It's almost that time of year again! Yes, I'm talking about Valentine's Day! I'm fully aware that the mention of that holiday will either evoke a yelp of excitement or a groan of dread from you. Either way, I don't see any harm in looking cute. Here are some Valentine's Day outfits for inspiration this year.
Even if you hate this holiday dedicated to mushy Hallmark cards and heart shaped boxes, these outfits can be worn all spring and summer long. You won't find any obnoxious heart printed items here! If you've been watching my OOTDs, you know that I love to make sure that the pieces in my closet can be worn on multiple occasions. The more versatility, the better in my book.
So what Valentine's Day outfits do I recommend? Here you go.
Valentines Day Outfits: Pretty in pink.
Pink is a more subtle option for a Valentine's Day outfit and it also doubles as a great spring wardrobe builder. This dress is one of my favorites. In fact, I own the burgundy one as well. If you're a feminine girl and love a good float skirt, this has your name all over it. Wear it for a spring or summer wedding too. Put a cropped cardigan over it with flats to dress it down for a spring look.
Valentines Day Outfits: Date night top.

This is something I feel like I don't own anymore. In college, my wardrobe used to be almost all cute tops. Now? I'm constantly left wondering what to wear out to dinner with Matt. I don't think a knit sweater is going to get him pumped, if you know what I mean. The answer is this black ruffled tank top. It's sexy but chic. You can show more chest or less. Plus, it's affordable.
Valentines Day Outfits: Red dress.

Yes, this post wouldn't be complete without a little red dress. While this is probably the most obvious choice, there is a reason why red dresses are worn on this holiday. And it's not just because red is the color of hearts. The little red dress turns heads. I don't know a single guy who doesn't like a girl in red. So if you're partnered up, try this option if you want to indulge in all things cliche and Valentine. If you're single, save this for your first date with that guy on Coffee Meets Bagel that you've been crushing on. If you're not going out for V-Day, save it for whenever. Trust me, your guy will appreciate it.

Whether you want the perfect slimming number or you want your outfit to match the color of your heart (kidding), a little black dress has to be on the table for this holiday. If you're daring, top it off with a bold red coat. Yes, it's a little stereotypical but the coat can be worn long after Valentine's Day plus it keeps you warm if you live in the cold. And of course, I'm a LBD fan too.
Valentines Day Outfits: Flirty skirt.

If you're going for a less conventional look, try a skirt. I saw this velvet pleated skirt and loved the texture. While I'm wearing it with a ruffled sweater, try it with a silk cami if it's warm enough where you live! I found a few other fun options too. These are a more unique (and wearable) option of Valentine's Day outfits.
